Why Apologetics?

1 Peter 3:15 tells Christians to “Always be Ready to Give a Reason for the hope in You” Many churches have failed at preparing and grounding their congregants in their faith and preparing them for the deception of our secular culture.

Two Primary Purposes

1. Grounding Christians in their faith and preparing them for the lies and deception of our culture that would seek to entrap them and pull them away from Christ. Those who know what they believe and why they believe it, and have objective reasons for following God and believing in His Word stay committed to their faith.

2. The secular worldview dominates our schools, media, entertainment, and more. Day after day people are inundated with a secular, naturalistic, anti-Christian view, and Christians are not prepared to share the truth of Christianity and give a defense for the faith. Churches need to prepare themselves for the war on truth in our culture, and apologetics equips them to stand for God’s Word.
